"J.P. and the Silver Stars" was a steel-drum band that played traditional songs with a Caribbean flair on their steel drums on a stage across from the entrance to Pirates of the Caribbean
The band was from Trinidad and originally called "The Adventureland Steel Band", the name was changed to "JP and the Silver Stars" in the late seventies or early eighties.
They performed a song called Adventureland Delight on the old "Official
Album of Disneyland and Walt Disney World," which was released on LP
and cassette in the early 1980s. They were on a patio first and then
moved to Caribbean Plaza later on, opening up the octagon for live bird
exhibitions and merchandise sales.
They stopped perfroming in late 2002.
