Dinoland, U.S.A.
As you enter Dinoland, U.S.A., you pass under the Olden Gate Bridge,
which is actually made up of the skeleton of a 40 foot tall
Brachiosaurus, one of the largest creatures to ever walk the planet. |
Immediately after you cross the Olden Gate bridge, take a look at the
bulletin board - it's full of humorous postings from Disney Imagineers!
According to Disney, when Imagineers began working on the Dinosaur! attraction,
they had to pick out certain dinosaurs to inhabit the attraction. The
Imagineers liked the idea of choosing a creature that was not too
familiar to guests, so they chose the Carnotaurus. |
'Sue' the dinosaur, on display in Dinoland, is a replica of the most complete T-Rex ever found, which was 65 million years old. |
The
cycad collection along Cretaceous Trail in DinoLand U.S.A. represents
the third largest such collection in North America, including direct
descendants of the four botanical epochs of plant evolution dating back
hundreds of millions of years, including ferns, mosses, conifers,
broadleaf plants and the first flowering plants on earth. |

The Boneyard
Just past the Oldengate Bridge on the left is the Boneyard - an
educational playground made to look like a real dinosaur dig site!
Explore the rope ladders, tunnels and slides, interactive displays and
more! And be sure to open all the crate lids and doors for added
suprises! |

Chester & Hester's Dino-Rama
Disney's Animal Kingdom's "mini-park within a park" is Chester &
Hester's Dino-Rama, which resembles a carnival-like midway with games
of chance and rides for all ages. |
