- Disney's Animal Kingdom's massive "Tree of Life" is made up of more
than 100,000 leaves that actually blow in the wind. They are made up of
transparent leaves, as well as leaves colored in five different shades
of green.
- The 100,000 leaves on the "Tree of Life" is only about 1/3 as many
as there are in the Swiss Family Treehouse in the Magic Kingdom!"
- At over 14-stories tall, the majestic Tree of Life dominates the
skyline over Animal Kingdom. It stretches over 165 feet across and is
made up of over 100,000 leaves and a trunk that is fifty feet wide. At
145 feet tall, the Tree of Life, the majestic centerpiece of Disney's
Animal Kingdom, is just a little smaller than the tallest attraction in
Walt Disney World, which is the Tower of Terror (at 199 feet). It's
also smaller than Cinderella Castle, which comes in at about 189 feet
tall! Like the Magic Kingdom's Cinderella Castle, the Tree of Life
serves as a beautiful centerpiece to Animal Kingdom, and the
surrounding area is filled with various wildlife
- The more than 100,000 branches span over 165 feet across. After 18
months of construction, 20 artists carved the trunk, branches and roots
with 325 animals.
