Disney has announced plans to move its World of Disney Store out of its posh Fifth Avenue spot in NYC when its lease expires in 2010, citing high rent as the reason not to renew. The store, located at 711 Fifth Ave. told its 220 Cast Members that it will be leaving its current 36,000-square-foot space, Disney’s only Manhattan location. However, they won’t be leaving for good, as they are seeking out other locations in the City. Expectations are that they will likely relocate to Times Square, a more heavily traveled pedestrian area, and near its Broadway shows like Mary Poppins and The Lion King.
