Lou's WDW Observations - week of Sept. 7, 2008 PDF Print E-mail
Written by Lou Mongello

I've just returned from a non-research trip to Walt Disney World and a 5 night cruise on the Disney Magic. In addition to the other bits of news reported this week, I observed the following:

The Egg Roll Cart in Adventureland, that I've often mentioned, was no longer serving Samosas! I can't express my disappointment in seeing one of my favorite treats disappear.

There were more "healthy snack" options available: Green Tea FUZE (Coke product), SmartWater and Vitamin Water were seen at many locations.

According to Cast Members, Disney is phasing out the sale of soda bottles at kiosks, making Coke soda products available only at counter service locations. I'll be covering this in more detail on a future show.

The new Liberty Square bridge is beautiful. Be sure to take special notice of the light fixtures! Some work is still being done, but what is completed looks fantastic.

Some minor cosmetic changes were seen around the parks, including Sunset Club Couture in Disney's Hollywood Studios - sadly it looks like the watch artists will be moved from this location, but we won't know for sure until it reopens. Some more cosmetic work was going on in Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom. And of course work was going on all around World Showcase in preparation for the upcoming Food & Wine Festival.
