Disney's Wide World of Sports is expanding its sports offerings for both athletes and guests, with what appears to be the largest bowling stadium in the country. The new facility will take about 18 months to construct, and when complete in 2010 will contain 100 lanes, stadium-style seating and a restaurant. When not being used for tournaments, the stadium will be open for Guests to come and play, giving them a new reason to come and visit the amazing facilities at the Wide World of Sports complex. It will be open for guests except during one of the 13 United States Bowling Congress tournaments starting in 2011 and running through 2029. Each tournament is played over a four- to six-month period.

No name has been given as yet, but when it is completed it will be a welcome addition to Disney's offerings of something else for families to do outside the parks, in the evenings, or on some of those rainy days.
