"Dr. Hidden Mickeys" Steve Barrett is coming out with a brand-new dream guide to the most luxurious experiences that WDW has to offer, and he's looking for your help! This new guide to the créme de la créme at Disney World will need some spectacular photos to showcase that special Disney magic, and we're turning to those of you who most appreciate it to convey the magic to others.
We´ll need pictures of posh suites, gourmet meals, exquisite souvenirs, and exclusive experiences ... it´ll be a tough job, but someone´s got to do it. If we select your work, your photo(s) will be immortalized in Steve´s new book (tentatively titled "When You Wish ... the Walt Disney World® Dream Guidebook" and scheduled to come out in late 2007); you´ll get byline credit, and we´ll send you two complimentary copies of the book (one for you, one for a friend), signed by the author, BEFORE it hits bookstores! Contest Rules: 1. These MUST be your own work, and you must hold all rights to any images you submit. 2. This is a guidebook, not a family scrapbook, so the fewer identifiable people in your pictures, the better. In some cases (like in the parks or hotel lobbies), you may not be able to frame a shot without people, but we want readers to imagine themselves at WDW, and that´s hard to do with someone else´s kid in the middle of the frame! Exceptions for restaurants and activities like the Grand Floridian´s Princess Tea. 3. Where you can´t comply with Rule 2, you MUST provide signed releases for any identifiable people in your pictures, giving us permission to use their image (download a sample form here). 4. NO DISNEY CHARACTERS can appear in your shots. You may have the best Mickey Mouse picture ever, but the little guy is copyright protected, and we don´t hold the copyright! Technical stuff: - All photos should be full-color.
- Digital photos should be high-resolution for optimal print quality, so we ask for a MINIMUM resolution of 300 dpi at reproduction size: we prefer 6 by 9 inches but will consider pictures as small as 3 by 5 inches. For those not familiar with technical jargon, this means that a digital camera with 3 megapixels or more should be sufficient, as long as you work at the highest resolution setting.
- Digital images should be sent as JPEGs or TIFFs (be careful; some cameras have RAW settings).
- Send high quality prints from film cameras, but NOT your only copies - we can´t return them.
Digital submissions may be emailed to
