DisneyWorldTrivia.com Dream Team Project Silent Auction

to Return to Fred Block's MagicMeets Disney Fan Gathering

Scotch Plains, NJ. March 20, 2008 - Disney and Magic, the words go hand-in-hand. But if there is one thing a Disney fan enjoys more than experiencing that Disney magic, it's sharing it with others.

For the third year, the DisneyWorldTrivia.com Dream Team Project will host a charity auction at Fred Block's MagicMeets Disney Fan Gathering, to be held July 19, 2008 in Camp Hill, PA. Last year the Dream Team Auction raised $9000 to benefit the Make-A-Wish® Foundation of America via Firstgiving.com. This year they hope to exceed that amount to once again help make the wishes of seriously ill children come true.

The silent auction will feature new Disney merchandise, collectibles, pins, and hand crafted items. Additionally there will be unique items and experiences that will thrill true Disney fans. Approximately 100 lots will be auctioned, with all proceeds going to charity.

The DisneyWorldTrivia.com Dream Team Project was founded by author, webmaster, and podcaster Lou Mongello for the purpose of raising money to grant the wishes children with serious illnesses to visit Walt Disney World. What started with Lou Mongello's donations of portions of the proceeds from the sale of all merchandise sold on DisneyWorldTrivia.com and sales of the Walt Disney World Trivia Book, has grown into a true community effort by DisneyWorldTrivia.com "Family Members" and friends. The proceeds of special fundraising events by the Dream Team Project are donated to charitable organizations that help make the life of a child a bit brighter during a difficult time for them and their family.

In 2006 and early 2007, the Dream Team was able to sponsor the wishes of three children through Starlight Children´s Foundation to go to Walt Disney World. After Starlight Children's Foundation discontinued its wish-granting program, the Dream Team turned its efforts towards helping the Make-A-Wish® Foundation of America, via Firstgiving.com. Through those efforts, an additional $18,000 has been raised for Make-A-Wish® since June, 2007.

"When I came up with the idea of the DisneyWorldTrivia.com Dream Team Project a number of years ago, I had hoped to simply donate what I could to an organization that could facilitate bringing some true magic to the lives of children that needed it, by sending them to a place that means so much to me - Walt Disney World. Today, thanks to the tireless efforts and incredible generosity of so many people, we have collectively raised tens of thousands of dollars, and in doing so, made a difference in, and touched the lives of many families. This year, the Dream Team Project is proud to once again hold our annual auction at the MagicMeets event, a gathering of Disney fans from across the country. Inspired by the success of last year's event, where $9000.00 was raised in just a few hours, we are looking towards bigger goals, and more dreams fulfilled. The success of the Project is a testament to the numerous volunteers, and everyone who continues to donate their time and resources, and demonstrates the caring and desire to help of the entire Disney fan community."
