Steve Barrett will again be up for bid, offering a personal Hidden Mickey's Tour that is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Tim Devine of The Magic in Pixels has donated a stunning photograph of Cinderella Castle, which has been given a watercolor treatment, printed on canvas, and professionally framed - a true piece of art that would look incredible in any home or office. Nancy and Ray Harkness, of the blog Grumpy's Hollow, have created a one-of-a-kind Mickey quilt that is sure to be treasured by a lucky winning bidder. April Baker of Sugar 'n' Spice Papercrafts will craft a custom 20 page scrapbook for the highest bidder. Dreams and Wishes and Smiles

True Disney words, right?

Children have dreams. They dream of becoming a firefighter or an astronaut or a cowboy or a pirate. They dream of princesses and fairies and pop stars and dancing the night away at a magical ball. They don’t dream about chemotherapy, losing their hair, being too weak to go to school.

Parents have dreams for their children. They dream about what they will become, who they might marry, what kind of job they may have, whether they will have grandchildren someday. But for a family with a seriously ill child, those dreams may seem very far away, and life may be more like a nightmare. Happy dreams may be hard to come by.

Wishes.... for a visit to a magical place, for an escape from the fear, for a chance to create memories as a family that can be treasured for the joy they brought.

Smiles.... a hug from Mickey, a kiss from a Princess, a spin on the tea cups, a laugh at Goofy’s antics. Time away from doctors and hospitals and having to grow up too soon.

This is why the Dream Team Project exists. To help make the dreams and wishes of seriously ill children come true. To bring a smile to a child’s face when they need it the most.

“When I came up with the idea of the DisneyWorldTrivia.com Dream Team Project a number of years ago,” says founder Lou Mongello, “I had hoped to simply donate what I could to an organization that could facilitate bringing some true magic to the lives of children that needed it, by sending them to a place that means so much to me – Walt Disney World. Today, thanks to the tireless efforts and incredible generosity of so many people, we have collectively raised tens of thousands of dollars, and in doing so, made a difference in, and touched the lives of many families.”

WDW Today Podcast Supports the Dream Team Project - And YOU Can Help!!

The WDW Today podcast will be broadcasting live during MagicMeets. Co-host Mike Newell (Mouse World Radio) came up with a great idea to include a tie in to the Dream Team Charity Auction during the MagicMeets Live Show.

Any donations made to the Firstgiving web page for Dream Team between 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 19th will be announced on the live show. Firstgiving.com allows guests to make donations securely using a credit card.

All donations made during the time period will be included in the Auction total announced at MagicMeets. When you fill in your donation, please include your Internet community affiliation in the comment field, so that you can be thanked properly on the air.

Check out the WDW Today podcast website, http://www.wdwtoday.com/ for details on how to join them for this and all their live shows. They will have a chat room going during the broadcast, which is always lots of fun, and sometimes have a live video feed direct from MagicMeets.

The Dream Team Project is really looking forward to this event and would like to thank Mike Newell for the great idea and WDW Today's help implementing it. Together we can spread some Disney magic and make a difference in the lives of seriously ill children.

The Magic In Pixels to Donate Portion of Sales to The Dream Team Project

magic-in-pixels-logo.jpg
Tim Devine, photographer and owner of TheMagicInPixels.com, has announced that he will donate a portion of his sales at Fred Block's 2008 MagicMeets to the DisneyWorldTrivia.com Dream Team Project.

"As a father of a very healthy two year old, I know first hand the magic and thrill of a Disney vacation, as seen through my son's eyes and mine," says Tim. "I have also seen how the Disney magic can bring a smile to the faces of ill children as well and that really inspires me to want to do what I can to help. I just think it's the right thing to do to try to give that magic to someone else who may not be as fortunate."

The Magic In Pixels will have a large selection of matted 8 x 10" prints, 16 x 20" prints, and photo CDs. Additionally, orders for 16 x 20" prints may be placed in advance through TheMagicInPixels.com or at the table at MagicMeets. He will donate on-the-spot a percentage of the sales that are made at his table by the end of the Auction that day.

This is a wonderful opportunity for MagicMeets attendees to purchase some beautiful art for their homes that will also help a worthy cause!

The Dream Team Project thanks Tim Devine for his generous contribution!

2007 Auction Brought $9000 Worth of Smiles!

There was silence. There were tears of joy and smiles from ear to ear. Then there was a lot of cheering. Good thing there was a chair ready for Lou!

The reaction was unforgettable as Pat Whitson, Lou Mongello, and Fred Block announced the total amount raised by the Dream Team Project at the 2007 MagicMeets: $9000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of America, a combination of efforts including the Dream Team Silent Auction, sales of the Dream Team’s “I Helped Make a Child Smile” buttons, poster sales organized by AllEarsNet.com founder Deb Wills, and personal donations collected at the meet. The total was more than double what had been raised at the 2006 meet!

Once again we would like to thank everyone who supported the 2007 auction, especially Fred Block.

A. You must be present to bid. We unfortunately do not have the capabilities for absentee bidding.
