- The Wonders of Life pavilion opened on Epcot's west side on October 19, 1989. Physical fitness is the central theme of this domes pavilion, which features thrill rides like Body Wars, two celebrity-filled films, and the Fitness Fairgrounds, where you can test your senses and evaluate your athletic abilities at various exhibits.
- When Epcot opened in 1982, plans for a health and physical fitness pavilion had been drawn up, but there was no interested corporate sponsor. Finally, an agreement was made with insurance giant MetLife which allowed the Wonders of Life pavilion to open on October 19, 1989 at a cost of over $100,000,000.00! MetLife ended its sponsorship of the Wonders of Life pavilion in June 2001, and all references to the former sponsor were removed within one month.
- The 72-foot tall double helix DNA tower at the entrance to Epcot's "Wonders of Life" pavilion is 5.5 billion times actual size. That strand of DNA would be just the right size for a human that stands about 6,000,000 miles tall.
- In the Fitness Fairgrounds area of the Wonders of Life pavilion, you can test your senses and athletic abilities at various, interactive exhibits. There are also three theaters which house the "Making of Me" film, "Goofy About Health", and performances by the Anicomical Players.
- Fans may know him as "Mr. Spock" from the "Star Trek," TV shows and movies, but Leonard Nimoy, who has directed numerous feature films, also directed the "Body Wars" attraction movie.
- "Cranium Command", located in the Wonders of Life Pavilion, opened on October 19, 1989. This attraction consists of a short movie in the pre-show, and a celebrity-filled film mixed in with Audio-Animatronic characters. Here, we are introduced to the tiny "people" that are responsible for piloting our brains. We follow the misadventures of a new recruit as he takes command of the brain of a high school kid on a "typical" day. A hidden gem in Epcot that is fun for all ages!
