Embrace the legendary cultures of Mexico and the American Southwest
amidst Mayan architectural flourishes at this lakeside Resort hotel. This Resort is located in the Disney's Animal Kingdom® Park area.
- Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, themed to regions of
Mexico and the American Southwest, includes 2,112 rooms and the largest
ballroom in the entire Southeast United States at 60,000 square feet. It is
also the largest convention center at the Walt Disney World Resort, and the
third largest in the region. The resort, which opened in 1997, currently has
95,000 square fee of meeting space, with a new 86,000-square-foot exhibit hall
opening in spring 2005, bringing the total to more than 221,000 square feet of
meeting space. The convention center is equipped with wireless technology,
allowing Internet access through the entire room, and there are electrical
outlets every 30 feet, as well and water and compressed air connections
scattered throughout the room.
- Disney's
Coronado Springs Resort, which is themed to resemble Mexico and the American
Southwest, is one of Disney's moderate resorts. The resort complex has 1,967
rooms divided into three regions; The Casitas, with their colorful plazas and
fountains; The Ranchos, highlighted by an arroyo, a rocky stream bed; and The
Cabanas, evoking the spectacular Mexican coastal regions. The entire resort is
set around a 15 acre lake known as "Lago Dorado" (or "Golden
Lake"). The 0.9 mile long Esplanade which circles the lake is the perfect
path for leisurely strolls or bike rides, while paddle boat and kayak rentals
are available on the lagoon.
- The
Coronado Springs Quiet Pools are the first on Disney property to use Bromine
instead of Chlorine
- There is a
.9-mile promenade/jogging trail around Lago Dorado.
