- The story behind the R 'n' R Coaster - "You're going on a tour of a
fictional record plant, G-Force Records. You meet Aerosmith, and they
invite you to go with them to this concert they're performing that
night. Unfortunately, there isn't enough room for everyone in
Aerosmith's limo, so geusts end up waiting for more cars. When the
guests get into their own limos, the radios are on, broadcasting 'live'
from the concert. The actual ride then is your tour through Southern
California as Aerosmith gives its concert."
- The coaster was built
first, then the building was constructed around it. The building volume
is over 3.7 million cubic ft
- The limos go from 0-57 mph in 2.8 seconds.
- The launch catapults you 200 feet
- There is 3,403 feet of track Each
limo can hold 24 guests There are three inversions - two rollover loops
and one corkscrew
- There are over 900 speakers in the attraction
- There
are 125 speakers and 24 sub-woofers in each limo. At 40 feet tall, the
larger-than-life stratocaster guitar that adorns the entrance of the
attraction has a 32-foot-long neck which is nearly 15 times the size of
the neck on an average stratocaster guitar.
- As you enter the first
inversion the G-Force is between 4 and 5 The roller coaster for "The
Rock 'n Roller Coaster" was built first, then the attraction's building
was constructed around it.
- The same company that designed the Rock N'
Rollercoaster at Disney MGM Studios also design Goofy's Barnstormer in
Mickey's Toontown Fair.
- When the Rock 'n' Roller coaster was being
built, there was a great deal of concern among Disney engineers that
the nearby Tower of Terror's 2 elevator drops, coupled with the energy
needed for the roller coaster's launch might actually being down the
entire Studios' power grid! So a new electric substation just was built
just for Rock 'N' Roller Coaster.
- When Aerosmith came to Walt Disney
World to preview the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Steve Tyler and Joe Perry
rode it 12 times in a row. There is about one mile of neon light used
outside the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster attraction
-
To temporarily commemorate the one year anniversary of the opening of the "Rock 'n' Roller Coaster,"
Disney made a giant replica of a Fender Stratocaster guitar in the
parking lot - out of Corvettes! More than 80 Chevrolet Corvettes, many
varying in year and model, but all red, black or white, were arranged
to create this design, which was only visible from above.

A great overlooked detail - the sign on the fence has the number for Walt Disney Imagineering
