- Guests can take a trip "To infinity and beyond!" in their Star Cruiser which is controlled by a joystick and armed with two "laser cannons."
- Hold down the fire button during your entire trip to maximize your score!
- Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin fits right in to Tomorrowland, and is located across from the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. During your pre-flight briefing, you learn that the Evil Emperor Zurg is stealing Crystollic Fusion Power Units (which look just like "C" batteries to me), and all of the Junior Space Rangers must capture him as soon as possible. After you board your space cruiser, you take a quick trip through the Astro Accelerator to outer space. All around you are targets of different sizes, all shaped like the letter "Z." Each target is worth anywhere from 100 points to 10,000 points (with some bonus, hidden targets scattered throughout the ride). After one final shootout with Emperor Zurg, Buzz Lightyear congratulates you on a Mission Accomplished.
- Like any good video game, your score is displayed in your ride vehicle, and you are ranked at the end of the attraction. According to the chart, here are the rankings:
- 1,000 to 9,999 Points - Space Cadet
- 10,000 to 99,999 Points - Space Scout
- 100,000 to 199,999 Points - Space Ranger 1st Class
- 200,00 to 299,999 Points - Planetary Pilot
- 300,000 to 599,999 Points - Space Ace
- 600,000 to 899,999 Points - Cosmic Commando
- 900,000 to 999,999 Points - Galactic Hero
- "Z" is for the evil, Emperor Zurg. As you travel through the attraction, use your blasters to shoot the Zs, which represent Zurg's evil forces. Watch your points rack up on your digital scorecard, located on your space cruiser's dashboard. (TIP: See if you can hit the farthest, smallest Zs. These are worth the most points. Also keep the trigger pulled, it will keep firing.)
- Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, presented by Mattel, opened on October 7, 1998, replacing the "Take Flight!" attraction.
- OK... here's a little secret to scoring big on Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin...
- Bet you didn't know that there is a target in the first room worth a whopping 100,000 points!
- When you enter the first target room, look for the big orange robot on your left. As you pass it, spin around and shoot at the target on it's left arm.
- Then, as you leave the first shooting area, there is a "Z" target on the ceiling above you. If you hit the target directly in the center with the laser, you get 100,000 points per hit.
- Your maximum score can be 999,999 points, and you get the satisfaction of impressing your family and friends at being a "Space Commander."
