“Fun in the Sun” may seem like a great way to characterize the Walt Disney World Resort 365 days a year. Perhaps that is why Disney has chosen that as the theme of this year’s Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, an annual event that takes place each Spring at the park.

The Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, which will be held this year from March 19 through June 1, celebrates the season with a colorful array of flagrant flowers, gardens and over-the-top topiaries, and guests can even learn tricks of the trade from Disney's own expert gardening crew during the celebration.

This exclusive event, as is the case with all of Epcot's annual events, is included with admission to the park. If you are planning on visiting the Walt Disney World Resort this Spring to see the festival firsthand, chances are that you will want to take in more attractions and see all four of the world-class Disney theme parks while you are in Central Florida. OrlandoFunTickets.com is just the place to help you do just that – and see it all for less! We are your one-stop shop for discounted tickets to Walt Disney World, Sea World Orlando and the Universal Orlando Resort, along with other top area attractions. So whether you are coming to Orlando specifically for this annual event or will just happen to be in the area during the festival, be sure to include OrlandoFunTickets.com in your vacation planning details! The 2008 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival will greet guests as soon as they walk through the park’s front gates, as a 14-foot tall topiary of a surfing Goofy and Mickey and Minnie posing at a beach party will be stationed in front of Spaceship Earth just inside the main entrance. Donald and Daisy will be nearby in the World Showcase in topiaries depicting a game of beach volleyball, while Stitch won’t be far off sitting atop a lifeguard stand! And for those who enjoyed last year’s pirates theme, there will even be a pirate ship garden with a shaded play area for the little ones, one of two designated children’s play areas at Epcot during the International Flower and Garden Festival.

While much of the International Flower and Garden Festival is centered around the intricate landscaping of the grounds, guests are also encouraged to improve their “green thumb” at one of the educational stops around Epcot. The Green Garden in Future World East will educate guests on how to have a low maintenance and environmentally-friendly approach to gardening, while Future World West hosts the Dynamite Vegetable Garden (which, of course, teaches to how to grow a great vegetable garden) and Tricks of the Trade, an exhibit where Disney’s Horticulturists show you their top tricks and give you the inside scoop on how they keep the Walt Disney World Resort looking beautiful all year long.

Finally, one of the best parts of this annual festival is the concert series. Aptly named the “Flower Power” concert series this year, the America Gardens Theatre will come alive nightly at 5:45, 7:00 and 8:15 with the sounds of the best 60’s and 70’s music, including music from Davy Jones, The Guess Who and Paul Revere and the Raiders, among many more. In addition, the 2008 International Flower and Garden Festival will also feature guest celebrity appearances and a number of special events, including an incredible “Florida Farmer’s Market” May 2-4 and the “Coming up Roses” weekend May 9-11, featuring brilliant displays of thousands of colorful roses and a Mother’s Day brunch that is always a popular treat!
