Listener Holli emailed with rumors courtesy of the Cast Member guide on her Keys to the Kingdom tour.
According to her guide, the changes to the Walt Disney World FastPass system are going to make it more like the Disneyland system, and that it will allow Guests to get a second FastPass for a different attraction as long as it is a different kind of ride or in a different part of the park. The system is supposedly undergoing testing at Epcot currently.
The same CM also said that Walt Disney World´s Haunted Mansion would indeed be getting the "Floating Leota head" effect that was added to Disneyland´s Mansion.
Once again, rumors of an extensive Jungle Cruise rehab are beginning to swirl, as there has been talk of an expected closure of the attraction in early 2008. It is unknown if this would include the addition of characters such as Timon and Pumbaa, or tie-ins to the upcoming movie.
A number of listeners have emailed about the new spiels on the WDW buses, which have already been installed, and more rumors are coming to light about what may be coming in the future. The next phase seems to involve the bus stops themselves, with the addition of card readers that would allow Guests to insert their Key to the World card, which would notify the bus dispatcher that there are Guests waiting for a bus at that stop. The system, when combined with automated counters on each bus, would be able to track when particular bus stops were busy, number of Guests waiting, how full each bus is, etc. and determine if and when another bus needs to be dispatched. This could bring a huge increase in efficiency, shorter waiting times and better service to the Guests.
