Tom at CRT
I had booked the Family Magic Tour as well as lunch at CRT for my DS, Parker's 5th birthday and at the time of booking I was told that the tour would be 2 hours long. When we checked in a little before 10 AM I wanted to confirm that it would be over in 2 hours since we had lunch reservations at CRT for Noon. The guide told me that the tour was actually 2 1/2 hours and that if I went over to Guest Services maybe they could try to change our reservation time. Knowing changing our reservation would most likely be impossible I was not happy that we would probably either end up missing the last part of the tour or missing our lunch entirely. Guest Services checked for other available lunch times and as I figured....no openings, so then they picked up the phone and called CRT. The CM explained our situation and then laughing as she hung up the phone turned to me and said, "it won't be a problem, when you get there just as for an old, fat, bald man named Tom."
After the completion of our Family Magic Tour (which by the way was fabulous and I highly recommend!! Will write more about this in my trip report) we headed over to CRT and low and behold there was Tom!!! He checked us in and escorted us into the waiting area where the Fairy Godmother was waiting just for us! We were alone with her for probably about 20 minutes while we waited for them to prepare a special window table (also Tom's doing!). Before heading upstairs to dine, Tom came up and handed me 3 No Strings Attached coupons: 2 for head of the line rides and 1 for five free Mickey Ice Cream bars!!! He said that they were for our wait time! Wait time??? They were doing me a favor by still getting us into the castle to eat! This was truly a magical moment provided to our family by a magical cast member! It is people like Tom who keep us coming back! He brought tears to my eyes and I just had to give him a hug! So...if anybody is at CRT and see's Tom, please take a minute to say hello! He is one of those CM's who makes a difference! Thanks from our family Tom and we will see you next time!!!! |

Awe! What an awesome experience!!! Thank you so much for sharing that! It's so great to her such wonderful stories about such outstanding people!

Yes! It is nice to know that there are still true "Disney" people working there! Tom said that he would be checking for "his story" and if he stops by I'm sure you will all make him feel welcome! I get a big smile on my face everytime I think of him and as long as he is working there, I will certainly be stopping by to say hello to him!

Yes, I do love Disney, and people like that make all the difference, don't they?
