CM at Zawadi
During our recent stay at AKL, I was shopping in Zawadi and looking at some of the African Pottery they sell. Which btw is lovely. A male CM (don't know his name) came over and asked me if I knew anything about the pottery. When I replied that I did not, he began explaining how it is made. It was fascinating! He told me that the particular pieces I were admiring come from a Zulu Tribe in Africa. He furthermore explained to me that the sun is very important to this tribe, so they always paint a sun at the top of every piece. Also, this tribe had just begun to make pieces exclusively for WDW with a Mickey Icon somewhere on the piece. And that since the icon is there, they do not add a sun to those pieces.
I was grateful that this gentleman took the time to explain about this pottery. I didn't even ask, he just graciously offered to share his knowledge. |
