New here

Hello, I'm new to these forums. I have been paper scrapping for a couple years now, I think my first time was for my Disney vacations! Sometime in 2006 I made the switch to digital scrapping. I'm always so lazy to pull out the papers and etc, so it suits me well. I have a lot of scrapping to catch up on, 2 WDW trips and numerous other family things. I'm still lazy!

I live in Indiana and am married with a son who turns 4 in 11 days and a daughter on the way, due in April. We all really love WDW, my son has already been 4 times. We don't have any trips planned, since we don't want to take an infant, but we definately want to take her before she turns 3, free is really nice. Our last trip was in October and the guys are watching our video of Hallowishes right now.

Hi Fran, I'm "new" too. I love scrapbooking and I think I own almost every Disney sticker/paper/embellishments that have ever been made. Well, I like to think so anyway.

I'm new, too! I, too, love Scrapbooking but haven't done anything since September...

how do you guys post your pages? Do you scan? I have a scanner...

then how do you make it so people can click on it and see a bigger view? I'm familiar w/ photobucket...but that's all.

I can't wait to see all your things...and I would love to "show off" mine!!`

Thanks for the nice welcome. After perusing some of the posts last night, I was actually inspired to do a page! Whoopie! Thanks for that! Except for a calendar I made for Christmas gifts in early Dec, I haven't done any pages in ages, so I am grateful to get some oomph to get back to it, since my to-do list of scrapping is getting really long and with baby almost here, that will add greatly to my list and really shorten my time to do pages!

I haven't worked on my pages in forever it seems. Maybe now that the holidays are over, I can start up again.

Ok, my dad has suggested I try digital scrapping.
Since you do this, can you explain the process to me?

Oh yeah - welcome to the boards!!!

Digital scrapping is using a photo program like Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro to make your layouts. There are tons of websites online that sell digital kits (you can hit Google), with papers, tags, alphas and tons of other elements. Many of these sites have freebies as well. I have only bought 1 item and I have millions of downloads. I would buy some but at this time, I just cannot spend money on that.

It is similar to paper scrapping in that you have an idea or a picture you want to create, but you use digital elements and backgrounds instead of real ones. The biggest plus is that once you download a paper or element, you can reuse it forever, it doesn't poof once you scrap it. You can manipulate photos without damaging the originals. You can make them black and white or sepia or do other fancy things to them.

Actually the real biggest plus is that you don't have to drag out all your supplies, only get to work for 5 minutes cuz the kids are driving you batty then have to put away all your supplies. Everything is on your computer and I have a neat organization, so no mess ever!

Hope that answers your question in a general sort of way, if you have more questions I would be happy to help if I can.

That sounds really cool. I can totally relate to not wanting to pull everything out, especially with the kids on top of me.

Btw, welcome to the boards.
