Ripped paper effect

Hello fellow scrapbookers! Unfortunately, I am not as experienced as many of you are!

I have seen a lot of people do a ripped paper effect. I don't have a picture of this on me (and I don't want to post one up without being able to credit someone). If anyone knows what I am talking about and knows how to do this, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!

Here is a link to a card that the scrapbooking forum moderator Stitch did:

http://www.disneyworldtrivia.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=10746&cat=745

Most pattern paper have a white core (inside) like these papers do, but most cardstock are the same color inside and out.

One thing I always have to remind myself is to make sure I rip in the right direction so that the cool looking ripped side is on the side of the paper I want showing. You might have to do a test first. Also, I would recommend ripping before you attach any pictures or elements on the paper. I have had problems before with the rip ending closer to the elements than I wanted them to be. Not ripping too fast is also helpful in this area.

another tip to ripping paper is to lightly wet a line where yu want it ripped with a wet q-tip or wet paint brush. it makes it easier to rip. im not sure if stitch describes this little trick or not, but there ya gi!

Ripped paper is normally what I get when I don't like something. Or maybe it's called confetti. I'm not sure.
