Post Sequel for Disneyland?

From the Orlando Sentinel:

Sequel for Disneyland
The California resort is poised to follow Walt Disney World's successful script.

Dave Mckibben and Kimi Yoshino | Los Angeles Times
Posted March 23, 2007

Nearly two decades ago, former Walt Disney Co. Chairman Michael Eisner ordered up a grand plan for Southern California. "Amaze me," he told his staff.

They brought him visions of a massive expansion near Disneyland that included an international theme park, three resort hotels and a 6-acre lake.

That vision never came to fruition, but Disney did open a second theme park in 2001 -- part of a larger goal to build up the Disney Resort and entice tourists to stay longer, like they do in Orlando.

Now, Disney is mulling its third act.

Yea that article makes me very excited. I love Disneyland there just isnt enough to do yet. Also anyone who has seen the designs for Westcot can't help but be excited. I hope the new plans include revisiting that idea.

It all sounds very exciting - I love to know that they are thinking and dreaming and coming up with new ideas - I guess I just wish it wasn't so focused on the higher income people. I'm personally kind of tired of the DVC time share propaganda and I hope that some of the additions still cater to the bulk of their audience - families and 'average' Americans who can't drop $250 per person for one day in a park.

Even though I do not doubt a third park and more hotels at the DLR... i do think that they are on the back burner, and that it will be some time before we EVEN get an official announcement from Disney....
