Happy Birthday, Disneyland
Happy Birthday to our beloved Disneyland Park! Fifty years ago today, you opened your gates to the world. Now, fifty years later, we gather to celebrate your great accomplishment!

In honor of the Anniversary, here is a transcript of Walt Disney's Dedication:

"To all who come to this happy place - welcome! Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America, with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world."


If anyone has any Disneyland memories, praises, or birthday wishes, please share them with us!

Again, Happy Birthday to Disneyland! I wish I could be there with you right now!

Happy day!

I've got my Disneyland shirt on, ready to celebrate! Disneyland DVD's are all lined up to watch later.

Too bad they didn't take the opportunity to have a special episode of "Wonderful World of Disney" on tv tonight. It seems like that should have been a natural thing for them to do.

I thought for sure they would have some sort of tribute on TV...I was thinking along the lines of a special re-broadcast of the Dedication show or something...

Anyone else hope thyat they bring Disney's Electrical Parade across the street from California Adventure so that it can have just one more running as The Main Street Electrical Parade?

Happy birthday Disneyland!!

I am so glad I got to visit this year, if just for one day!

They had a 1 minute coverage on this Sunday Morning episode, and they played part of Walt's speech. I nearly came to tears!

I get to go this year too. For one day as well, but I'm extremely excited as I never thought I'd get to visit Disneyland!
