Prelude to a Trip Report

Hi all... Well I'm back! Can I just say up front that DISNEYLAND ROCKS! It is not the red-headed step child of Disney by a long shot. It truly is a very beautiful park with so much detail and so much to do. It's smaller, but not a lot smaller as I still have plenty of blisters from walking all day. Main Street is so pretty and honestly, I like it a lot better than Main Street in WDW. I don't want to "be comparin" the two because they are both wonderful in their own right, but DL's Main Street is just so quaint and the colors are much nicer than the predominant white Main Street of WDW. In many ways you can tell this is "Walt's" park as the level of detail is amazing. The one thing that was very noticeable was that the que lines had a lot more scenery and things to look at and do while you are waiting, not that we waited for much, gotta work those fastpasses ya know!

The park was in bloom with flowers everywhere, gardenia hedges, full sized trees that provide that much needed shade. The smell of flowers permeated everything. There were very unique plants and trees that I have never seen before and the old favorites like petunias and marigolds.

The castle needs some steroids though, it could use some bulking up but it fits the overall tone of the park. I will be writing up a full trip report real soon. I won't get into a lot of detail minute by minute stuff, but I will just report the differences between rides in each park. I love both parks, never doubt that, but there is something very very magical and enchanting about Disneyland.

Oh and Lou, I got a picture of my daughter in the California, sort of like "Lou's Spot". We'll call it the Pacific coast version!

Yea!

Thanks for the prelude! If possible, I'm even more excited now for my return to DL next week! It's been several years and I can't wait!
