New shoes really make a big difference. I'm sure you'll feel the difference in your feet but the whole bod.Hmmm. I need new shoes too. Good Luck with the training and weight loss, are you still planning on the Marathon and CP Program for 09? |

Thanks Gabe! I'm lovin' the new shox. They have definitely made a difference. Yes, I'm still doing the marathon and I can't wait to start my CP!
Fungus_01- I usually run in cotton too, but I've always heard that polyester is better, especially in socks.

Look for items thay have dry-loc system that wicks away your sweat. Same with socks. Look at ****'s for such items or even Target has some items. UnderArmour makes great running gear. You may not want to worry too much about it training but the closer it gets to the race try and pick out what you plan on wearing during the race and train in it for awhile. That's what I did for the Minnie 15k.

Training is going pretty well for me. I did a 10 mile "wog" the other day and hopefully will be able to do 13.1 by the end of July.

Just signed up for the 2009 marathon. Look forward to start training tomorrow...last and only marathon was 10 years ago (in Maui), it was a long hard day. But 10 years older and wiser & ready to give it another shot (I plan on Mickey or Minnie carrying me the last 6 miles)......
Last year this time I did a 1/2 Ironman, but 365 lazy days later....I gotta get going again. Any motivation tips, lemme know. Thanks and happy training! "Run when you can, walk when you can't, crawl when you must...just finish" |

That's awesome that you signed up! Congrats! Now you are right it's up to you to do the training but take it from me, every hard minute is worth it. This is an amazing race, any marathon is a true experience and crossing the finish line really changes you. Have fun with it, don't make it something you "have" to do. Having run one before will be great so u will have an idea of what that distance can do to your body and now it's a matter of how bad you really want it.
