2009 WDWRadio Marathon Team - Page 5

I'm in for Goofy #4. This one will be the toughest as had surgery on left knee 2 weeks after Goofy #3 and will have second surgery on the same knee in 2 weeks. I am having my cartilage reinjected into my knee(after growing more cells in lab) and having a plate put in knee to straighten knee alignment. 2 months on crutches and 9-12 month recovery. Surgeon said should be able to do ToT 13K and than Goofy.

No training(other than months of PT) for a while.

Everyone keep up the good work and see you in Jan!

Wow!!! Good luck with all of that! It sounds like you are a fairly determined individual (obviously, if you are of Goofy #4).

The 1/2 marathon is now CLOSED for registrations.

But that doesn't mean you still can't join our team!

Thanks for starting this thread (way back when), Lori!

I just found it and I am planning on runing the half in 2009! My husband and daughter will also be joining me (in Florida, not on the run-LOL).

Looks like a fun group going down!!

Ok, I guess I missed the registering for the 1/2. How do you join your team and does this mean I can get an entry? If not that is ok, I'm planning on doing the 5K and also will be there for the Meets. Thanks !

Anyone can be part of the team running or cheering. It doesn't get you into the marathon though. Sorry! Register early for the 2010 marathon. When it gets closer there will be special shirts for us. Buy one and wear it proudly. And I know last year a group of people met up to cheer for the runs. Keep an eye out here for updates.

I think you MEI girls should do the Everest Challenge in September.

LOL - I'm planning on doing the Tower run in October. I think that my hubby would go into cardiac if I bought another plane ticket! LOL

Oh did you see the new Princess Run in 2009, Any interest in doing this? Sounds like a great one to do. And Everest Challenge is a possibility for me .....

Good luck to all of you planning on running in January. I'm planning on running the 1/2 in 2010 so hopefully the team will become a regular thing.

For those people still wanting to get entry into the 1/2 Marathon there is still a way in. Go the charity route! It might be a little tough but if you can raise the money they pay your way usually and most of them have entries left for the half marathon still! Just an idea for you

Is there music playing all the way through the half marathon?

I had heard there are DJ's set up but are they all in synch? Or is it a huge cacophony of noise?

Is there a "usual" pre/post marathon meeting spot for followers of the Mongello order?

Followers of the Mongello Order--that is too funny!!! We need shirts that say that.

This year we tried meeting up across from The Spot and afterwards there was a meet at the Noodle Terrace in MK. Not sure what's going on next year.
