![]() Looking forward to meeting after the race. On a related note, this is my first time at the Disney marathon. My family will be with me but I am the only one running. We're trying to work out the logistics. Would it be best to have my family just head over to MK to cheer me on rather than drag everyone to the starting gate (at who knows what hour in the morning!) with me? (I will have a 4 & 6 year old with me) FC |

My wife and I have done the 1/2 in DisneyWorld for the past couple of years. We will be again in 2009. We live in AZ so we're fairly close to DisneyLand, and we're doing the DisneyLand 1/2 in just a few weeks. Is anyone else out there training for it?

I'd love to join the team
After hearing Lou's show last January with Mike S about their half marathon, I was inspired. I've never run a race in my life and always hated running (even though I was a big soccer head growing up and play alot of tennis today).
Anyway, I've been running since January and even tough I'm far from being able to complete 13 miles, I decided to buy the plane tickets, get the resort booked and bring the family for the big weekend in January (I signed up months ago in case I totally lost my mind and went through with this). I'm officially throwing my hat in the ring and I'd be happy to attend a meet and buy a shirt and join your team. By the way, the NYC half marathon was last weekend and on 7online.com: New York News, New Jersey News, and Connecticut News, Weather, and Traffic 7online.com (the local ABC station) their weather person, who is an avid runner, created a very simple excel sheet to get ready for a half marathon. I know there's a lot more comphrehensive training stuff on the web, but her schedule is nice and simple. Take care, Dave in Paramus |

Hi everyone, strange question, but I figure someone will know (maybe Lou will read this). I just heard on WDW Today from Len Testa that Lou was running the Half-Marathon. Does anyone know if he actually is running it? I haven't heard him mention it on the podcast and I don't get to the forums as often as I'd like. I figured that Lou had his once-in-a-lifetime race this year and was not going to run it again. The training can be tough to fit into a busy schedule like Lou's, so I figured that since he hadn't mentioned it, he was going to pass this year.
See everyone there in January! Thanks! ![]() |

I asked at Magic Meets and he said he was not running it.

Lou is not running but is planning on being there to support the WDWRadio/DWT Team!
Meet.... Lou and I are definitely planning on a meet, most likely on Saturday afternoon as we did last year. We like to give the Half marathon runners time to freshen up and recover but early enough that the Full/Goofy Marathon Runners will have time to get to bed for the following day's race. ![]() T-Shirts..... Yes, we will have shirts available. We have been working on design early and I promise this year they will be ready for purchase much earlier, in time for training and for regular postage!

I headed to MK with my children about an hour after my husband had to head to the starting line. I suggest that they head to the Magic Kingdom to find a good spot. It is by far the coolest place to see you running, down Main Street USA! ![]() After our group passed through, we headed back to Epcot to find a spot near the end. All on property hotels have specially designated race day transportation for runners and family. The race packets have a lot of great information and tips. Not only for the racers but for the spectators as well. Good Luck, you are going to have a truly Magical Experience!
