Welcome to the Previews for the 2008 Dream Team Project Charity Silent Auction at MagicMeets!

Here I will be posting descriptions and photos of the items available for bidding on if you are attending MagicMeets.

The Dream Team Project raises money to send seriously ill children to Walt Disney World through Make-A-Wish Foundation® of America. Last year we raised $9000. This year we hope to do even better!

There are 111 lots altogether. I will be posting them in groups of 5, and will try to get as many of them up per day as I can. I will lock this thread between my posts, so that it is only for the previews of the items. But I’d love to hear your thoughts, questions and comments on the lots in the “Auction Chatter” thread!

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept bids from people not in attendance. But you can still help out! The Dream Team Project can accept donations that go directly to Make-A-Wish through Firstgiving.com/dwtdreamteam. And here’s the fun part: If you make a donation between 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 19th, you can hear your name announced on the WDW Today Live Podcast from MagicMeets! And all donations made during that time will be counted towards the total amount raised at the auction that day! It’s easy and secure to make a donation through Firstgiving.com/dwtdreamteam - they take all major credit/debit cards. Make sure to include “DWT” or your community affiliation in the comment section of the donation so we can thank you.

Lot #1: Donald Sketch by Artist Stacia Martin

Framed Pencil Sketch on paper. Donald Duck says “Everything’s Ducky” on this drawing by Disney artist Stacia Martin. It was created on the first “Backstage Magic” Adventures by Disney trip. The drawing is being donated by Michelle Cunningham of Mouse Fan Travel, who was on the Adventure. Suggested starting bid $25


Lot #2: Tim Devine Castle Print

Lot #3: “Lilo’s Hula Lesson”

A limited edition of 4000, this lithograph was created by Ducky Williams especially for Disney Cruise Line concierge guests. Suggested starting bid $25

Lot #4: Walt Disney’s Vision

Framed print of Walt Disney entitled “Vision.” Includes “It All Started with Walt - Parks, Resorts & Destinations” jumbo pin with dangle. Pin is event only, limited edition of 500. Suggested starting bid $30

Lot #5: Happiness is Best Shared Together

Precious Moments figurine, available exclusively at Disney Theme Parks. A sweet portrayal of a boy and girl holding a Mickey Mouse balloon. Suggested starting bid $30

Lot #6: Aye, Captain!

Two Pirates of the Caribbean Mini-Busts of Captain Jack Sparrow and Captain Barbossa, and a Pirate’s Treasure Chest with “jewels,” an event-only thank-you gift from the Adventures on the 7 Seas Lagoon pirate event in May, 2007. Suggested starting bid $40

Precious Moments figurine, available exclusively at Disney Theme Parks. Mickey holding the had of a little girl wearing Dream mouse ears. Suggested starting bid: $25

Lot #9: Walt and Mickey

3-D art created from Art of Disney postcards and Disney pins with a Walt Disney theme. Includes 8 pins, and there is plenty of room to add your own favorites to the fabric covered sections. Suggested starting bid: $35

Lot #10: Oswald the Lucky Rabbit

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit Disney Treasures DVD set and a figurine. Suggested starting bid: $25

Lot #11: Peg Leg Pete

Statue of Peg Leg Pete, the barker parrot that used to entice people into the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at Walt Disney World. There’s a secret drawer in the base that holds a pin of Stitch as a pirate. From the Adventures on the 7 Seas Lagoon event. Suggested starting bid: $40

Lot #12: Where Magic Lives

Poster and 4 pin set of Mickey, Minnie, Donald & Goofy painting the number “100”. Suggested starting bid $15

Man’s watch from The Disney Store. Suggested starting bid: $15

Lot #14: “Always Time for Magical Dreams”

His and Her watches and a custom tile box. Her watch is a commemorative 75 Years of Mickey watch from Avon. His is a Disney Mickey watch. Box features a photograph with the phrase "There's Always Time for Magical Dreams" on a tile inserted into a wooden box. Interior is lined in white velveteen. Suggested starting bid: $20

Lot #17: Audio Guide Subscription with iPod
This one is something to get excited about!! First, you get the first two volumes of Lou Mongello’s Audio Guide to Walt Disney World: Main Street U.S.A. and Adventureland. Then, you get every future volume in the Magic Kingdom series of the Audio Guide: Frontierland, Liberty Square, Fantasyland, Mickey’s Toontown Fair, and Tomorrowland, as soon as they are released! Lot #25: Music to Go

This is cool: mPlayer - a very small Mickey head shaped mp3 player - and Disney Wishes! CD (this is a collection of favorite Disney songs, and the proceeds Disney gets from this CD go to Make-A-Wish, so it’s like giving twice!) Suggested starting bid: $35

Cars sleeping bag, two Cars mini-plush, flashlight, and 4 books. Suggested starting bid: $30

Lot #27: Mickey Quilt

Made by Nancy Harkness. This beautiful quilt features 30 yards of cotton fabric, 2200 yards of thread, and about 150 hours of labor - a true work of the heart. There are even hidden Mickeys in the quilting! The quilt is approximately 55” x 71” and is worth much much more than this starting bid, so be prepared to bid generously if you wish to be the lucky owner of this incredible piece. Limited Edition laser cel created for Animal Kingdom’s 10th anniversary, featuring many Disney characters, including many secondary ones not often seen. Imagineer Joe Rohde signed the mat. Donated by Deb Wills. Suggested starting bid: $40

Lot #34: Marathon Pin Set

5 pin boxed set from the 2001 WDW Marathon. Each pin represents a different part of the race: Epcot, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, the Studios, and The Finish Line. Limited edition of 1500. Suggested starting bid: $15
