hehe... Pooh sized... I like that.

I'm the shortest of my friends and yet the... fluffier of them (well not anymore, but the last time we went to the park I was). 5'2" 200 lbs. and I didn't have any problems really with any rides.

I've already gotten used to arching up to get the seatbelts done before sitting my bum down in the seat, so that was never a problem. And alot of times I feel more comfortable when the bars or shoulder restraints are tighter (makes me feel like I won't fall out).

The only kinds of seats I found to be a little uncomfortable (until you get into the ride and forget about it) are the seats that are bucket-seat style. Those are made for people with small to moderate sized bums... and most of my fluff is placed right on my bum.
And at the OTHER park... the only ride that I was oncomfortable on (but still worth it) is the E.T. ride... it's supposed to be kinda like a bycicle but it's like a bucket-style bicycle seat almost.

Yeah.... so that's it.

Yeah.... so that's it.

I like "Fluffy", and "Pooh Sized".........I really like "horizontally endowed"........but then people think about it more and come up with rude comments.......oh well...

We are getting ultimate Park hoppers and staying in WDW, so I don't plan on visiting "the OTHER park..." I think between MK, MGM, AK and Epcot.....as well as the water parks that we will have more than enough to keep us busy for 8 days....

rides for large people

I wonder if you could post after your trip in late Aug. We are going early Oct and I am 5' 6" 280 lbs. I have read what people have posted about test track, RRC and space mt and plan to avoid those but I am wondering about body wars, star tours and mission space. I have been walking like crazy since June and am in better shape but few lbs lost story of my life). Mainly I don't want to embarass my family. (I know I know - If you don't want to embarass them loose weight right? Well its not for lack of trying. In addition to weight training 3x wk and walking 2 - 3 miles each day I am on the waiting list for bariatric surgery) Hope you have fun and can ride to your heart's content and let us know how it goes.

I have not had any problems on any of the ones you asked about. I am way taller than you (5 ' 10") and weighed way way more than you, way bigger. I used to have to be sure on Space Mt to get the rear seat as it was wider, but now that I have lost a bunch of weight it does not matter which seat. Only thing I have not ridden is Primeval Whirl, just because never got around to it.

Gin (currently living 2 hrs away from WDW)

Hi Karin-

My husband is 6' and 280 lbs, he can ride everything that you mentioned with no problems, he can even squeeze in to the wheelchair cars with my daughter (tho that is a tighter fit) I think you will fit on everything at WDW with no problems. I do want to mention tho that they have not reopened (and it seems they may not be reopening) Wonders of Life which is where Body Wars is, so I wouldn't count on being able to go on that one. I think that you will dfind WDW a much different experience in ride size than other amusement parks!

Welcome to the site and I hope you will introduce yourself in the general forum and come play with us! We love to meet new Disney fans!

Welcome to the boards!!!

Good luck with your diet and exercise plan, and maybe you can avoid the surgery.

I've lost 23 pounds in the past 3 months by cutting out almost all fat, salt, and sugar and riding my bike 3 miles a day. It's a pain, but I feel better. One of the church ladies asked my DW the other day if I was sick since she noticed I was losing weight and was worried about me.

I'm a pretty skinny fella, but I'm tall (about 6'4" lankiness!). I've never had any problems with any of the rides I've been on, but let me tell you about my cousin and her mom:

my cousin is a large lady, but I don't know if I would necessarily call her obese, she's just got a good bit of extra-ness. her mom is the same way. well, POTC was (stress WAS) their favorite ride, until they got to the bottom of the drop and the boat bottomed-out! they sank the boat they were in!

they were quite embarrassed because the ride stopped and they had to be escorted out of the ride in front of everybody! I think I would have died of shame on the spot, personally.

after they told us that story, I told my sis (who is kinda big too, especially coupled with her husband), "I'm not ridin in the same boat as you guys! that's not happenin to me!" hehehehehe.

yes, it did actually bottom out. and it was so embarrassing for them that after the intitial telling of the story, they won't talk about it now. I feel real bad for them, b/c my cousin is already overly sensitive about her weight problem.

So what you're telling me is that water was actually coming INTO the boats and they all had to evacuate?

oh, no no no. I don't think the water is even deep enough for that to happen. the boat just, somehow, wouldn't move and was stuck to the bottom, or track, or whatever is under there.

oooh lay off your sister! I'm the 2nd largest in the family ( 5'7" & 135lbs) and I catch all kinds of **** from my brother about how much I weigh (he's a stick figure too. My family is small... I'm just a little more meaty than the others.) I know how it is to have a family member poke fun at your body. She's probably ready to hang you up by your toenails...
