OPINION: Would you let Disney Plan your next vacation?

As we discuss on our MouseTunes podcast of February 5, 2006,

Would you let Disney Plan your next vacation?

After a test period in summer 2005, Adventures by Disney is set to officially launch in May 2006. In addition to the Wyoming and Hawaii adventures available during the test period, Adventures by Disney will be offering London & Paris, Costa Rica, Canadian Rockies and Italy Adventures. One other difference from the test period is that there will be two Hawaii adventures, one will include Oahu & Kauai, the other will include The Big Island & Oahu.

Adventures by Disney will have its inaugural adventure 5/28 - 6/3 2006 on a 6-day/7-night Oahu & Kauai Adventure. A few days later the Big Island & Oahu adventure will debut. In June 2006 the London & Paris, Costa Rica, Canadian Rockies and Wyoming Adventures debut. In July 2006, the Italy adventure debuts. Starting in September 2006 through October 2006 several "Adult Only" adventures will be offered.

For more details and the Adventure schedule for May 2006 - January 2007 see the Official Adventures by Disney site. http://abd.disney.go.com

So, what do YOU think? Would you use this service for your next Eurpoean, Hawaiian, Wisconsonian (?), etc vacation?

Probobly not because i like to plan things out myself, but if it gives a lot of leeway and isnt too expensive for what it offers then i might.

As a UK Citizen I am worried that Disney believe we use the Euro, as stated on the Adventure FAQ, you can use Euro's in a few high profile shops but to get a coffee etc you will need pounds.

The prices also seem very high and there also seems very little Disney Magic sprinkled onto these trips.

I checked out the website, and the Costa Rica adventure stuff is definitely cool. There's the hanging bridges jungle tour, a rafting trip, and a zip-line adventure through the jungle. I think for something like this, and having never been to Costa Rica before, it would be a great way to see the different parts of the country with a lot of fun and different things to do. I'm not sure that I would do some of the other adventures in countries or states that I've been to before, but for something like the Costa Rica adventure, I'd consider doing it.

I'm sure Disney would be getting top dollar for a trip.
