My training has reached a point where I can't seem to run for longer than 40 minutes without feeling really tired. I am doing about 10 minute miles so that is okay. I think I just need to run for longer.

Still plenty of time

We are booked into Saratoga for the trip with DVC points. Really looking forward to it

My training is based on Distance, and am up to 3.5 miles in comfortably less than an hour. But I am not timiing myself at the moment. I have done 9 miles two weeks ago and 9.5 miles last week. This week is back to 9 miles, today is a rest day but 1.5 miles on Tuesday & Thursday and 3 miles on Wed & Sat.

Hope to do a 10K race in August with a half in October, but still want WDW to be the first full distance.

Did work out that I still have a training plan that has 900 more miles by the end of the race, which is from London to Rome which is very scary.

Put me down for a T-shirt or two, but I ain't stating size as I am shrinking at the moment.

I'm struggling, but working hard to stay motivated. I'm glad to have people to train with this time around.

Draw up a plan so that it is not a case of motivation to get out there buit you can see how much to do and can see it increasing to your target in Jan. Are you going for the Half or Full. Maybe also plan a 10K between now and then so that Jan does not seem so far away.

And remember we are all training for this together

Well tomorrow I am going to start a program called Couch to 5K in two months. I not totally unfit now, but I've never tried to run. Actually, Jonathan, Mike and Lou have really inspired me to start running. I'm going to start slow with this Couch to 5K and I don't think I'll be in the 2008 1/2 marathon, but I might shoot to run in 2009.

I'm considering coming in 2008 to "cheer" and get a good look at what really goes on during a marathon. This is completely new territory for me.

Running Races

We have been running in a few races since we have some time before we begin our official marathon training. Races are a great way to motivate runners and give them short-term goals to focus on within the larger goal of running a marathon. We ran a 3.5 mile race on Thursday and are running in a 5K on Sunday.

Hi there MickeyBabe!

Looks like we have one more coming. Please add my sister, Cindi, who will run with me in the 1/2M. Thanks. Can't wait to meet everyone in 2008.

I don't know if the Polynesian/ Monorail resort rates questions have all been answered or not...I've been away for a while.
But this is what I have learned from past experience because I myself prefer to be on the monorail route if it can be afforded.
First off...the rates may already by available but you usually can't get the annual passholder rates (if this applies to you) until about roughly 3 months out. But you can still book to hold your reservation and then call back to have the discount applied.

Now I prefer the Polynesian. While the rates can be pretty steep, you're probably going to pay more for the Contemporary if you want to be in the main tower. I've never considered it worth the money unless you're going to be in the main tower which the monorails runs through and, of course, the rates are higher for the main tower. So if you want to stay on the monorail line then I woud suggest the Polynesian. Being that it's in January (and if you can get an annual passholder discount) you can probably get the Poly for somewhere around the $220-$250 a night range.

I hope this helps.
